Millionaire who killed girlfriend during rough s.e.x session is set to be released from jail just after 22 months

A killer who left his girlfriend dying and then claimed she had agreed to have rough s3x with him is set to be freed - after serving less than two years.

John Broadhurst is in line to be released in early October, according to two sources.

If the millionaire is released from prison then he will have served just 22 months of the sentence of three years and eight months imposed in December 2018 over the death of Natalie Connolly.

The 26-year-old victim was left in a pool of blood at the bottom of a flight of stairs at their home two years earlier.

He had gone to bed and left her there after a night of drinking.

Broadhurst, 42, of Wolverley, Worcestershire, told a 999 operator he had found his partner "dead as a doughnut".

He claimed the 26-year-old mum-of-one was injured in a consensual sexual activity fuelled by alcohol and drugs.

She suffered more than 40 injuries, including a 'blow-out' fracture to her left eye, bruising and internal injuries, Birmingham Crown Court heard before sentencing Broadhurst.
