UFC: Nigerian-born, Isreal Aesanyan issues strong warning to Paulo Costa ahead of fight

Nigerian-born UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, has issued a warning to his opponent, Paulo Costa, ahead of their fight at the Yas Fight Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Sunday.

The 31-year-old, who has won 19 professional MMA fights and recorded no loss, said he would unleash himself like Jet Li on Costa, adding that if he grabs the neck of the Brazilian, he would never let go of it.

Adesanya will be gunning for his 20th win against Costa, who is unbeaten in his 13 career MMA fights.

“I know Costa is weak from cutting weight,” Adesanya said at the pre-fight press conference.

“He looks dry, the sun is affecting him. Yeah, he is trying to keep it together. If I grab your neck, trust me, I am never going to give you back.”

Adesanya added: “I am feeling dark for this fight. I have been focused for this fight. I feel like Jet Li unleashed myself on him.”

Meanwhile, Costa said despite his weight loss, he felt great ahead of the fight, adding that Adesanya is always weak.

“I feel great. I have been in the process of cutting weight. Israel is always weak.

“I think he knows my potential and how dangerous I am. Before I became a striker, I was a grabbler, and I was good at it,” Costa replied Adesanya.
